bio
Tyler Ashe is an Easley, South Carolina-based artist who grew up in the Phoenix metro area. Graduating from Arizona State University with his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing in 2012, Tyler’s art career has been a rollercoaster that began with a few brief stints working as a gallery assistant in various galleries in Scottsdale and Sedona while also pursuing a career in digital marketing.
After a few years bouncing between Flagstaff & Phoenix, he and his wife, Jayne, set off in their RV with their two rescue dogs to travel the country after marrying in 2019. A worldwide shutdown in 2020 and his father’s cancer diagnosis brought them back to Prescott, Arizona, to be close, where, due to a need for a creative outlet, his rediscovery of art took place, and his current vivid and expressive acrylic painting style emerged. A few years later, they found themselves back on the road and eventually fell in love with Greenville, South Carolina.
Over the past 4+ years, Tyler has honed his style, developed a body of work, and made inroads with local art communities. Showing in galleries like Inchoate Art Gallery, formerly of the West Village, eARThly Minds Gallery in Saluda, NC, 906 Art Gallery, as well as a few small festivals and bars and taprooms in North and South Carolina.
Tyler’s passion for animals is often reflected in his artwork’s subject matter, and his nearly 25-year meat-free lifestyle has recently prompted him to begin donating 50% of all original painting sales to vegan farm animal sanctuaries in the Southeast.
